Sunday Comics: Thank You, Mr. Halladay
After a lengthy hiatus for graduate school and weird library work hours, I'm finally back with art! I've missed everyone here and it's nice to be back working on baseball cartoons again.
Kevin Gausman's tweet about his uniform number change definitely made me emotional, so this week's drawing was to be expected.

Sunday Comics: Balfour, Maybe?
This might just be what's in that brightly-colored package for Orioles fans this season, but we don't know for sure. What do you all think - is Balfour the right choice, and will the Orioles manage to snag him?
Fun fact: Balfour has very heavy-lidded eyes, at least in his roster photos.

Sunday Comics: More New Orioles!
I follow the Stanford baseball team, so it actually gives me great joy to see Cord Phelps putting on an Orioles uniform. We've also added 6'6" Brad Brach to the mix this week.
Basically, we're getting all our holiday presents early, or at least Mr. Duquette is.

Sunday - er, Monday Comics: Silver and Gold
Graduate school's kept me from drawing too much lately, but I'm back!
Adam Jones and J.J. Hardy now each have a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger Award this season. One wonders how much more hardware the two can collect entirely on their own...

Sunday Comics: Thank You, 2013 Orioles
No, they didn't make the playoffs, but they did have another very solid year - and two years ago at this time, would we have honestly expected two really solid years from the Orioles in a row? Of course not.
I apologize for my absence for several weeks - my grandfather had a stroke in early August and passed away later in the month, and immediately after his funeral I was thrust into my graduate school schedule. Now that things are settling down again, I'll be drawing a lot more often, so thank you for being patient with me!

Sunday Comics: American League Top 40
Chris Davis has 40 home runs. Count 'em, 40. Forty. Four-zero. That's a lot.
He's done this 40 times already and he still has two months left to add onto that. He has a legitimate shot at catching Brady Anderson's mark of 50 dingers set back in 1996. This just adds an extra layer of excitement to a potential playoff run.

Sunday Comics: Welcome, Frankie!
I'm not the biggest fan of his given that he gave me an awful lot of stress attacks during his time with the Mets, but it's always good to bolster up your bullpen if you're going for a postseason run.
He's fun to draw because of how low he wears his hat, though.
...of course, we had to give up Nick Delmonico for him, so it's a case of trading the future for making a run in the present, and those always give me mixed feelings. But that's something we can think about later if things don't work out for the Orioles this season.
Also, look, I'm on time this week! Take that, thyroid problems!

Sunday Comics: Welcome Back, Brian Roberts!
He may not be able to contribute the way he once was, but it's always nice to see a fan favorite return from injury at last.

Sunday - er, Monday Comics: Sweep!
I purposely waited until Monday to draw this week's comic because I wanted to see if the Orioles would sweep the Yankees.
They did.
They did.

Sunday - er, Monday Comics: Jay-Pecked
You know how if you make a blue jay feel threatened or get too close to its nest, it violently attacks you?
Yeah, that happened yesterday.
Yeah, that happened yesterday.

Sunday, er, Monday Comics: Welcome, Hunter Harvey!
My main job at Aerys Sports is to cover the MLB Draft every year. Between the draft and my thyroid flaring up this weekend, I didn't get a chance to upload this little doodle of the Orioles' top draft pick this year, RHP Hunter Harvey.
I think the Orioles uniform suits him pretty well, actually.

Sunday, er, Monday Comics: First Home Start
I was without internet for the past day and a half and wasn't able to post this drawing of Kevin Gausman preparing for his first start at home. Turns out it was a bit of a prediction for what would actually happen since he seemed much more prepared and able yesterday than he did in his first two starts.

Sunday Comics: Go-Ahead Winners
I decided to try something a bit more minimalist this week when drawing Steve Pearce for the site. I was inspired by the art for Off, a French computer game that dates back several years but which has recently been translated into English and has achieved enormous popularity.
Yes, I do spend a lot of time on Tumblr, if you're wondering.

Sunday Comics: The Kid Is Alright
I'm currently buried under a crazy amount of grad school work and my hypothyroidism symptoms acted up today, but I did manage to draw a picture of that kid who completely destroyed everyone in game 2 of the doubleheader on Saturday.
You know him as Manny Machado.

Sunday Comics: Triple Play
I knew this was what I had to draw this week. It just took me ages to figure out how to do it. Do I draw a battlefield plan with arrows going from base to base? Do I instead make a joke about cable TV plans? Or do I just try to draw a full comic of the entire play?
Then I remembered two things:
Then I remembered two things:
- I am from New Jersey.
- I write a webcomic about dead comedians.
