I do see most see this next couple of seasons as his breakout and I'm with them. He is the best they have produced since Moose and they should sign him to an extension now.gorav114https://www.blogger.com/profile/15526220601043584434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2893512317902577458.post-17772134049027062262017-02-08T07:48:28.213-05:002017-02-08T07:48:28.213-05:00In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't real...In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter who starts on opening day.Matt Kremnitzerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693430925266947705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2893512317902577458.post-60821610638493318842017-02-07T16:41:17.370-05:002017-02-07T16:41:17.370-05:00Gausman emerges as the "ace" but Tillman...Gausman emerges as the "ace" but Tillman should still start Opening Day.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14285089166652676678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2893512317902577458.post-14334182565631733972017-02-07T16:41:10.667-05:002017-02-07T16:41:10.667-05:00Gausman emerges as the "ace" but Tillman...Gausman emerges as the "ace" but Tillman should still start Opening Day.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14285089166652676678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2893512317902577458.post-37039141037260384242017-02-06T21:07:54.042-05:002017-02-06T21:07:54.042-05:009 game winner an "ace"? I would call the others either advanced metrics (which is an unfair judgement) or secondary metrics (which is more of a mathematical term but still sounds a bit judgemental).Jon Shepherdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03521809778977098687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2893512317902577458.post-75952255614063716432017-02-06T07:15:09.575-05:002017-02-06T07:15:09.575-05:00Maybe this is the year he shows ace material in bo...Maybe this is the year he shows ace material in both statistical measures and counting stats. He's still young and could be on the upswing regardless of what Fangraphs says. As a fly ball pitcher, he may be most affected by the O's OF defense so even a slight improvement in that area (Smith over Trumbo) may give him a boost. I don't think Miley is really as bad as he played as an Oriole last year so there is some hope there, too. Getting some truly average performance at the bottom of the rotation from any of the candidates would keep the O's in contention.Rogernoreply@blogger.com
